Shenzhen, August 16, 2023 – DJI has officially released the DJI FlyCart 30 (FC30), the first civilian launch vehicle, which combines large payload, long range, strong signal, and high intelligence, and is suitable for material transportation in mountain, shore-based, and rural transportation scenarios, as well as in various emergency scenarios[1].


The FC30 adopts a 4-axle 8-paddle multi-rotor configuration, with a maximum load of 30 kg and a maximum range of 16 km when fully loaded in dual electric mode. The aircraft has an IP55 rating[2] and can withstand operating ambient temperatures from -20°C to 45°C[3], with a maximum flight altitude of 6,000 meters [4]. It has super environmental adaptability and can adapt to all-weather, wide temperature range, and cross-altitude operation scenarios. It has two load modes of cargo box and empty crane, the cargo box supports quick release and automatic weighing, and the empty crane supports intelligent swing elimination and emergency fuse and other functions, bringing users flexible, diverse, stable and reliable use options. The new dual-battery system, 20km O3 image transmission [5], multi-directional intelligent obstacle avoidance, intelligent multi-alternate landing points, support for dual control of one aircraft and standard parachute ensure maximum safety. Combined with the DJI Cloud Platform and Pilot 2 APP, which are designed for transportation applications, it provides users with a more efficient, economical, and safe integrated software and hardware air transportation solution.

30 kg dual electric load 16 km flight range to meet the needs of efficient loading


The FC30 breaks through space limitations with large load and long range, so that the mission must be achieved. The device adopts a 4-axis, 8-paddle multi-rotor configuration and a new dual-battery system, with a maximum load of 30 kg in dual battery mode [6] and a maximum load of 40 kg in single battery mode [7]. The range is up to 28 km [8] and up to 16 km with a full load [9]. Carbon fibre propellers are standard on all ranges, and they reach a maximum speed of 20 m/s[10].


The FC30 is designed for efficient transportation, which can effectively improve the practical feasibility of drone transportation, meet the needs of material transportation from mountain, shore-based, rural transportation and various emergency scenarios, and enable more people to enjoy the convenience of drone transportation.

 Super environmental adaptability makes transportation unstoppable


In order to improve the accessibility and reliability of the equipment, the FC30 can support all-weather, wide-temperature and cross-altitude operations through a super protection design, so that the transportation can be carried everywhere.


IP55 protection level, waterproof and dustproof; It can adapt to the working environment temperature from -20°C to 45°C, and supports users to fly in high and low temperature environments; The maximum wind resistance is 12 m/s [11], and the maximum flight altitude is 6000 meters, which can adapt to the transportation needs of different altitudes; The standard propellers are optimized for high altitude, and low-altitude large-load propellers can be optional, so that the FC30 can maintain a maximum load of 30 kg in dual-electric mode from 0 to 3000 meters above sea level, maximizing product performance on the basis of ensuring safety. In order to adapt to the operation needs of low temperature and cold working conditions, the battery supports self-heating function, so that it is no longer difficult to charge and discharge the battery in low temperature environment.

  20km Stabilized Video Transmission Smoother flight operations


The FC30 is equipped with DJI O3 video transmission, which can reach a distance of up to 20 km, meeting the needs of long-range transportation beyond visual range. When the video transmission signal is interfered with, the FC30 can be connected to the network with the DJI enhanced video transmission module [12] to achieve 4G enhanced video transmission [13].It can obtain a stable and clear picture in various operating environments, calmly deal with signal occlusion in complex environments, and make the flight safer. In addition, the FC30 supports dual control of one machine, and pilots in two places can switch the control authority of the drone with one click, and work together to effectively solve the problems of signal blocking and insufficient cargo delivery accuracy in long-distance transportation, and further improve the operation coverage distance and operation accuracy.

FC30 is equipped with intelligent safety protection measures throughout the entire process from take-off to landing, effectively ensuring the safety of people, machines and objects.


Before takeoff, the system can evaluate the accessibility according to the mission requirements, equipment and flight environment conditions, help users choose the appropriate flight route, and ensure the safety before take-off through the functions of drone sound and light prompts and delayed propeller start-up.


During flight, the FC30 can achieve multi-directional, all-weather, and full-time intelligent obstacle avoidance during flight through the fuselage’s forward-to-rear rotating active phased array radar and binocular vision system[14], allowing users to operate safely in various scenarios and make the flight smoother. The built-in ADS-B signal receiver can timely warn the information of the surrounding manned aircraft, making the flight more secure.

The drone is equipped with a built-in parachute as standard, which has support functions such as boot self-check, independent power supply, propeller power off before parachute opening, sound and light alarm, and multi-mode triggering, which can realize low-altitude parachute opening and stable landing [15], reducing the risk of personnel and property safety loss under extreme conditions.


In addition, the FC30 is powered by a dual-battery system and has multiple redundancy designs, which can easily cope with harsh operating environments and maximize flight safety.

 Flexible switching of load modes to cope with different transportation scenarios


The FC30 folds and retracts to reduce the size of the device, meet the needs of ordinary vehicle transfer, and increase the convenience of equipment deployment, use and maintenance. The two load modes of cargo box and empty crane system provide more flexible and comprehensive solutions for different transportation scenarios.


In the load mode, it is equipped with a general-sized EPP cargo box [16] with a maximum volume of 70 liters [17] as standard, which can be quickly disassembled and assembled within 3 minutes, making it easy to load and unload goods. The cargo box supports weight and center of gravity detection to ensure that the cargo is loaded correctly, making the flight safer and more stable.

When the transportation place is not convenient for the equipment to take off and land, the air crane system can also be used for cargo transportation. The empty crane system has a rope descent mode, which supports two control modes: automatic and manual, with a maximum retraction weight of 40 kg, a maximum release length of 20 meters, and a maximum retraction and retraction speed of 0.8 m/s. FC30’s unique practical function of intelligent sway reduction can automatically adjust the flight attitude, effectively eliminate cargo swing, and ensure cargo stability to a greater extent. The AR projection function helps users quickly select the delivery location of the goods, and the goods are automatically released when they touch the ground by releasing the rope with one click, so as to achieve contactless and accurate delivery. In case of extreme conditions, the cable blowing protection can ensure the safe disengagement of the drone.

  Multi-terminal collaboration, convenient scheduling One-stop solution makes transportation easier


DJI Transportation, a new cloud platform for carrier applications, can easily achieve efficient multi-terminal collaboration and one-stop management, making carrier management and scheduling simpler and more efficient.


DJI supports complex route mapping, can effectively plan drone flight paths, and supports remote mission creation and planning, which helps to quickly dispatch equipment and reduce manpower input. In addition, the cloud can display the position, status and flight trajectory of the drone in real time, combined with the live broadcast of the full HD FPV single-axis gimbal camera, to grasp the operation status more intuitively and comprehensively. The system also supports centralized equipment management and multi-dimensional data statistical analysis, providing strong data support for adjusting operation planning and continuously improving operational efficiency.


The DJI Pilot 2 app also features new features and interfaces for users. Through DJI Pilot 2, users can intuitively understand the status of their goods and intelligently control the air crane system to ensure the safety of their goods. Auxiliary functions such as real-time terrain elevation profile and rod maintenance can help users grasp the flight status in real time and effectively alleviate the operation fatigue during flight. Route recording and automated route execution make transportation operations more efficient. At the same time, Pilot 2 supports setting multiple alternate landing points, in case of extreme weather or other abnormalities, the APP will inform the risk in time, automatically select the alternate landing point, and trigger the aircraft to land, improving transportation safety.


DJI FC30 provides users with a number of protection services, which can be enjoyed by purchasing and activating the device in Chinese mainland. The service benefits include third-party liability insurance with a guarantee amount of 600,000 yuan for the first year, a one-year access to the DJI Siyun Cloud platform worth 1,999 yuan for the first purchase, and a two-year network RTK service worth 1,800 yuan[18].
